PRE-SHIPMENT INSPECTION OF RAW JUTE & JUTE GOODS

Typical operations are:

A.0 RAW JUTE

A.1	Quality	Grade, color, class of fibre, fibre strength.  Length of Jute, texture of fibre.  Handling, cut etc.
A.2	Weighing	Weigh bale by bale on a platform/hanging scale.

B.0 JUTE GOODS

B.1	Quality	Measurement (Sizes: Length / Width).  Weight of bags/cloth.  Weaving defects/scanning faults.  Constructions (Porter & short).  Jointing of bags.  Moisture contents.
B.2	Weighing	Weigh bale by bale on platform scale.  Taring – the tare weight of the selected bales are checked at random to ascertain the net weight of the bale.

You can protect your interest by inserting the following CLAUSE in the letter of credit:
“The shipping document must be accompanied with the Pre-Shipment Inspection certificate of Baltic Control (BD) Ltd. certifying that the goods inspected conform to the contractual specifications in respect of weight and quality.”
